Talisman ARK brooch with Biwa pearl

Pebble shaped and lightly domed this brooch is a memory of that stone you curled your hand around and dropped into your pocket, a treasure from a walk.

It is etched with the names of non-human creatures, angel shark, puffin and octopus that call the sea their home. I wanted to create a contemporary jewellery collection which calls to mind the names of those diminishing lives as a way of remembering them and holding them in our consciousness. On the back is the word ARK, a reference to that well known tale.

A portion of the profits from each sale from my Talisman collection will be donated to a related charity to help fund the work they do in saving our wildlife and wild places.
